The Long Road Continues

Despite my not having updated this blog, A Vampire's Trial has been progressing very well. This last year, I completed a very solid rough draft. While many central components of the story have changed, the deepest core has not. Though I am now attending law school, I hope to continue my research and writing so that I will have completed a second full draft of this newly revised edition before the end of this school year.

A Brief Introduction

For the past five years, this story has stuck inside me, chewing on my mind. But I have never been able to actually write it. At the most, I have only been able to jot down a few ideas and character thoughts. But now the story is finally coming, and I only have a year and a half to complete it. At this point, I do not have a good summary for the book. At least not one that doesn't reveal all the surprises in the plot. But I do know what the central questions are.
The central question in A Vampire's Trial is a question: God, where are you in my suffering? It's the question that so many of us ask and are afraid to answer because of what we fear the truth might be. A Vampire's Trial examines this through the trials of Darys and others.
This November, I am roughing out A Vampire's Trial for Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month). So far, I have over 8,000 words written on the actual novel and 10,000 in outlines, characterizations, etc.
